Softball Game Preview: Willamette Wolverines vs. North Salem Vikings

The Willamette Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the North Salem Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willamette is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Willamette is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Grants Pass on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cavemen by a score of 3-2.

Cabbi Eads made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 23 runs the game before, North Salem was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Beaverton, falling 20-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

North Salem's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Willamette, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Everything went Willamette's way against North Salem in their previous matchup back in March, as Willamette made off with an 18-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
