Softball Recap: Crescent City's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Crescent City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 18-5 to the Hawthorne Hornets. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 26-19.

Alyssa Allmon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Tabi Smiley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Crescent City's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hawthorne, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crescent City will take on Father Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Crescent City is facing Father Lopez at the right time seeing as Father Lopez is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hawthorne, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on April 7.
