Baseball Recap: Williston Wins Going Away Against Hawthorne

Williston never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Hawthorne Hornets. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Houston Fessenden tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Breeden Clemenzi was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Blake Martin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Williston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Williston's record is now 12-8. As for Hawthorne, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Williston will head out to take on Interlachen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawthorne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
