Volleyball Recap: Soddy Daisy Takes a Loss

Soddy Daisy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Washburn Pirates.

Despite the loss, Soddy Daisy still got an impressive performance from Farrah Hilliard, who had 19 digs and two assists. Hilliard has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Addison Ward also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Soddy Daisy now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Washburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Soddy Daisy has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Silverdale Academy on the 15th. As for Washburn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Creek Wood on the 13th.
