Softball Recap: Walton-Verona Bearcats vs. Carroll County Panthers
Walton-Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-2 to the Carroll County Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in March.
Walton-Verona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Donato, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Walton-Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Carroll County, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Coming up, Walton-Verona will square off against Gallatin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carroll County, they will head out to face off against Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
