Leilon Willingham last of Mullen's fab three linebackers to commit

Unlike teammates Brady Daigh and Conor Healy, Leilon Willingham plans to leave the Centennial State.

The last of Mullen's three standout linebackers – and perhaps the best – will see his cell phone finally get a break.

That's because Leilon Willingham has given a verbal commitment to Texas A&M, selecting the Aggies over Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas State, Utah and Washington (among others).

Linebacker mates Brady Daigh (Colorado) and Conor Healy (Air Force) already had signed with in-state programs, but the 6-foot-2, 240 pound Willingham broke the trend. He cited a friendship with Mister Jones, a freshman last season with the Aggies who played at Littleton, as a factor.

"He was telling me going (to Texas A & M) was one of the best decisions he ever made," Willingham told The Denver Post.

BAD BREAK FOR McKAY
Regis Jesuit senior wide receiver Connor McKay suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the 5A championship game last month and will be shelved for baseball season. That is discouraging news, because baseball is McKay's top sport and the outfielder was projected as a high pick in the amateur draft.

He remains a likely draft candidate, but the injury likely will cost him a few, if not several rounds.
