Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks

The Kennedy Cougars will head out to square off against the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Kennedy's last matchup with Monterey Trail could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. Kennedy came up short against Monterey Trail, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Cosumnes Oaks.

Liberty Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Kennedy's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. Kennedy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game.
