Baseball Recap: McClatchy Takes a Loss

McClatchy entered their game against Pleasant Grove on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lions fell 7-4 to the Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

McClatchy got a good showing from Camden Salisbury, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Salisbury has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elias Ortega made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 14-2. As for Pleasant Grove, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClatchy will welcome Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
