Football Recap: Shabazz's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Shabazz won the last time they faced Kinnelon and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs strolled past the Colts with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Colts are ranked 152nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shabazz's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Kinnelon, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shabazz will welcome Verona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Hillbillies at the right time seeing as the Hillbillies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Kinnelon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Warren Regional at 7:00 p.m.
