Abbott has gone a perfect 3-0 against Texas Wind recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will square off against Texas Wind at 6:30 p.m. Abbott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers last Friday. Abbott came up short against Mart, falling 8-2. Abbott has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dinah Kaska was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. Syndey Balderas was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Texas Wind let BVCHEA HomeSchool stack four runs on them in the fifth inning on Friday but luckily Texas Wind prevailed anyway. Texas Wind narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past BVCHEA HomeSchool 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Texas Wind has posted since February 16th.
Whitley Shows made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mylie Mcdougal, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayleigh Potts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs.
Texas Wind was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Texas Wind pushed their record up to 11-15-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Abbott, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Everything went Abbott's way against Texas Wind when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Abbott made off with a 10-3 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Texas Wind turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
