The Fayetteville Wolves will challenge the Woodland Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Fayetteville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Winterboro. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.
Not much got past Lauren Cook, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Winterboro off the board. Cook has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodland took on Central of Coosa County on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-5 victory. Considering the Bobcats have won 17 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Allie Puckett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Puckett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Woodland let Alyssa Taylor and Railey Williams run wild. Taylor went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Williams went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Kaitlyn Davidson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Woodland is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Fayetteville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Fayetteville might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Woodland in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
