Niles Notre Dame is 1-9 against Joliet Catholic since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Dons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hilltoppers at 10:00 a.m. Niles Notre Dame is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Niles Notre Dame easily dispatched Northridge on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Dons fell just short of Stevenson by a score of 6-4 on Thursday.

Ryan Cisneroz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Dominic Holton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while it was Joliet Catholic who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Brother Rice who put up more. The Hilltoppers fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 5-4.

Joliet Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Niles Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Niles Notre Dame suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Joliet Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
