The Burley Bobcats are on the road again on Friday to play the Fruitland Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Burley beat Kuna 11-6.
John Thornton was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaige Funk, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Fruitland is ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Taft. Fruitland came out on top against Taft by a score of 11-6.
Burley's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Fruitland, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
