Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Lincoln-Way East

Lincoln-Way East entered their tilt with Stagg on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Chargers. That's more bragging rights for the Griffins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lincoln-Way East who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-22.

Matthew Muehlnickel paced Lincoln-Way East's offense, picking up ten kills. Muehlnickel got some help from Dylan Nanney and his 12 assists. Muehlnickel was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Lincoln-Way East's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Stagg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln-Way East will head out to face off against Minooka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stagg, they will challenge Lockport at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
