Softball Recap: Mt. Whitney Comes Up Short

Mt. Whitney lost against Edison back in February of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pioneers fell 8-3 to the Tigers. The Pioneers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Mt. Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for Edison, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mt. Whitney will be taking part in a tournament against Lemoore at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.27 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edison, they will take on Clovis North at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
