Basketball Recap: St. Mary Central Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Mary Central Catholic lost against Gibsonburg back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers lost 58-36 to the Gibsonburg Golden Bears. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gibsonburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Morant, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 19 points and six rebounds. Camden Mooney was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

St. Mary Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Gibsonburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

St. Mary Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-31 loss against Hopewell-Loudon on the 15th. As for Gibsonburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-55 win against Woodmore on the 15th.
