Soccer Game Preview: St. Thomas More Academy vs. Franklin Academy

The St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors will take on the Franklin Academy Patriots at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Thomas More Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Crossroads Christian 4-3.

St. Thomas More Academy hit the Colts with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maire Kelly (2), Juliana Larson, and Gabby Meyring.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Falls Lake a 6-0 shutout. Give Franklin Academy's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Franklin Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five games. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
