Recap: Goodwin Tech Gladiators vs. Cheney RVT Beavers        
        
		
            
 This season hasn't been kind to the Goodwin Tech Gladiators, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful  30-26 defeat to they on Tuesday. The  match was a  15-15 toss-up at halftime, but they  was outscored by Cheney RVT in the second.
 Cheney RVT got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Trinity Hazel out in front who  scored 18 points along with three  steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which  Hazel has scored at least 25% of Cheney RVT's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Myaliz Lopez, who  scored eight points along with ten  rebounds and three  steals.
 Goodwin Tech's loss was  their third straight on the road, which  bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Cheney RVT, their victory  ended a six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodwin Tech will take on Prince RVT at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Prince RVT's defense has only allowed 25  points per game this season, so Goodwin Tech's offense will have their work cut out for Goodwin Tech. As for Cheney RVT, they have the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Vinal RVT at 5:30  p.m.  on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Connecticut (Vinal RVT is ranked 146th, while Cheney RVT is ranked 169th).
