Basketball Recap: Syre Gillespie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Capital Prep over Hartford Public

Capital Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 69-43 to the Hartford Public Owls.

Capital Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Syre Gillespie, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Hill, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

Capital Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hartford Public, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Capital Prep has already played their next match (against Metropolitan Learning Center), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hartford Public will venture away from home to take on Bulkeley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
