Baseball Recap: Dougherty Valley Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Dougherty Valley's offense. They fell just short of the Monte Vista Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Ahdil Khan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Dougherty Valley's record now sits at 2-17. As for Monte Vista, they moved to 4-16 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Dougherty Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
