Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Seminoles vs. Countryside Cougars

The Southeast Seminoles will challenge the Countryside Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Countryside likes a good challenge.

Southeast heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Wednesday. They fell to East Bay 62-57.

Despite the defeat, Southeast got top-tier performance from Keith Potter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Potter continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hornes, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Countryside came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-43 W against the Green Devils.

Countryside's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Southeast didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Countryside in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 78-74 win. Will Southeast repeat their success, or does Countryside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
