Basketball Game Preview: Las Cruces Bulldawgs vs. Alamogordo Tigers

The Las Cruces Bulldawgs will venture away from home to square off against the Alamogordo Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Las Cruces has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

On Monday, Las Cruces was able to grind out a solid victory over Organ Mountain, taking the game 62-49.

Meanwhile, Alamogordo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Mayfield 64-32. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Trojans are ranked fifth).

Las Cruces' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Alamogordo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Las Cruces came up short against Alamogordo when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 56-49. Can Las Cruces avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
