It's playoff time, and Highland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Liberty Lions get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Highland got a great performance from Kennedie Nelson as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Nelson has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alena Mascarenas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. MiaLani Ocampo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory (which was Highland's eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-17-1.
