Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Wayne lost against Huntington North back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fort Wayne Wayne Generals took a blow against the Huntington North Vikings, falling 71-44.

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Wayne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Davianna Irons went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. Irons' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was BraLeah King, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 10 points.

Fort Wayne Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Huntington North, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
