Basketball Recap: Central Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Livingston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Valley). They walked away with a 74-61 victory over the Livingston Wolves on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-61 back in January.

Jace Mclennon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 31 points and ten boards. Central Valley is 3-1 when Mclennon posts ten or more rebounds, but 10-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Andre Flores, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Central Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Livingston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zack Duran, who posted 12 points. Isaac Baez was another key player, going 5 for 8 to rack up 10 points and seven rebounds.

Central Valley pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Livingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Central Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-56 victory against Johansen on the 7th. Livingston has also already played their next contest (against Lathrop), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
