Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Beats Heritage Christian for Their Fourth Straight Win

Mt. Vernon came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Heritage Christian Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Marauders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mt. Vernon never let Heritage Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.

Sierra Holverson paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Holverson got some help from Sophie Rahmany and her 14 assists. Alivia Morgan controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will be taking part in a tournament against Hamilton Heights at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Heritage Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Lawrence Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
