Volleyball Recap: Brinley Deakins Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Greenwood

Northview won the last time they faced Greenwood and things went their way on Saturday too. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Woodmen.

Northview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brinley Deakins led the charge by getting ten digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Maggie Wilson, who had seven digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Northview was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Northview's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Greenwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Northview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Plainfield on the 23rd. As for Greenwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Terre Haute North Vigo on the 23rd.
