Softball Game Preview: Wilson Wildcats vs. Adams Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Adams took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilson, who comes in off a win.

Adams will be up against a hot Wilson squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Wilson blew past Newman Smith 13-0 on Tuesday.

Isabella DeLeon was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Sarah Robb was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newman Smith only posted an OBP of .000.

Meanwhile, Adams lost 13-4 to Skyline on Friday.

Wilson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Adams, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Wilson took their win against Adams in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 17-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilson since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
