Soccer Recap: Gahr Victorious

Gahr was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged the Firebaugh Falcons out 2-1. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Falcons are ranked 969th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gahr has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. As for Firebaugh, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-10-1.

Gahr will host La Mirada at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gahr has three straight wins, La Mirada has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch. As for Firebaugh, they will venture away from home to square off against Mayfair at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
