Basketball Recap: First Assembly Christian Victorious

First Assembly Christian saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-51 victory over the Springdale Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

DANIEL TOWLES was a one-man wrecking crew as he dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. He has become a key player for First Assembly Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight boards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of JAELYN BLACKWELL, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

First Assembly Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

The win got First Assembly Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Springdale, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, First Assembly Christian will challenge Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Springdale, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bryant at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
