Softball Game Preview: Midway Panthers vs. Bryan Vikings

The Midway Panthers will face off against the Bryan Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Midway has 12 straight victories, Bryan has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Midway is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Killeen a 29-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bryan had taken Temple down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Vikings lost 13-3 to the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered against the Wildcats since March 9, 2022.

Midway pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bryan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
