Softball Recap: Milford Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Milford got themselves on the board against West Clermont on Wednesday, but West Clermont never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 11-0. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Meghan McClellan, who gave up just four hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep West Clermont off the board. McClellan has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jesslyn Roberts, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lanie McCoy, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Milford lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Milford is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Clermont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
