Baseball Recap: Palatine Comes Up Short

Palatine suffered their closest loss since April 17, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Barrington Fillies/Broncos by a score of 5-3. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fillies/Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Palatine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Palatine's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Barrington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

While Palatine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
