Softball Game Preview: Lyle/Pacelli Athletics vs. Spring Grove Lions

Lyle/Pacelli hasn't had much luck against Spring Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Athletics will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lyle/Pacelli might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-5 to Glenville-Emmons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Athletics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Spring Grove lost 11-3 to Rushford-Peterson last Friday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Izabel Kaufmann made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jada Strinmoen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Lyle/Pacelli's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Spring Grove, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Lyle/Pacelli might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Spring Grove when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Athletics avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
