Baseball Game Preview: Harlingen South Hawks vs. Lopez Lobos

For the second straight game, Harlingen South will face off against Lopez. The Hawks will host the Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen South will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Harlingen South earned a 6-1 win over Lopez.

Daniel Lopez and Kris Cruz did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Cruz went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Nick Garza was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Harlingen South's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lopez, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4-1.
