The Hamtramck Cosmos will square off against the Ecorse Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hamtramck will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Hamtramck turned things around against Trillium Academy on Friday. They came out on top against Trillium Academy by a score of 6-3.

Dorian Haslam made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Hamtramck: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Haslam was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
Haslam wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Mills, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ecorse had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Raiders have won nine contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Darwin Udenata, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Barclay, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Ecorse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Ecorse pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hamtramck, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hamtramck has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Ecorse struggles in that department as they've averaged .573. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hamtramck suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Ecorse when the teams last played on April 9th. Will the Cosmos have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
