Volleyball Recap: Ottawa Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Bailey Etscheid and Kendall Biba

Ottawa lost against Kaneland back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Ottawa sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 11-25, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Ottawa had strong showings from Kendall Biba, who had nine digs and two aces, and Bailey Etscheid, who had seven digs.

Ottawa has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14-2 record this season. As for Kaneland, their victory ended a six-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-18.

Ottawa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Metamora on the 10th. As for Kaneland, they will challenge Rochelle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
