Basketball Recap: South Effingham Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Glynn Academy came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against South Effingham, but Quinton Williams wouldn't allow it. The South Effingham Mustangs walked away with a 67-57 victory over the Glynn Academy Terrors on Saturday thanks in part to Williams, who posted seven points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave him a new career-high.

Several Terrors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jermaine Mack, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was BJ Perkins, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

South Effingham pushed their record up to 6-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Glynn Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

South Effingham and Glynn Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. South Effingham (ranked 394th) will meet Bradwell Institute (ranked 56th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Glynn Academy (ranked 484th) will meet Statesboro (ranked 69th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
