Neuse Charter falls despite strong effort from Jayvin Bradley

Recap: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. Lakewood Leopards

If the Neuse Charter Cougars were riding high off their 69-47 takedown of the Rosewood Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Neuse Charter fell 88-77 to Lakewood on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (69), Neuse Charter still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Neuse Charter still got an impressive performance from Jayvin Bradley, who scored 41 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 53.2% of Neuse Charter's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Klayton Tew was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Lakewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Williams out in front who scored 33 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dashaun Carr, who scored 22 points along with seven assists.

Neuse Charter's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Lakewood, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

Neuse Charter will take on Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Rosewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
