Basketball Game Preview: Brevard Blue Devils vs. Asheville Christian Academy Lions

The Brevard Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Brevard is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Brevard had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but East Henderson put an end to it on Wednesday. Brevard took a blow against East Henderson, falling 72-29. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Asheville Christian Academy duked it out withCarolina Day on Thursday. Asheville Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carolina Day 73-19. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Asheville Christian Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Brevard, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Brevard was dealt a bruising 78-47 defeat at the hands of Asheville Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Brevard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
