Softball Recap: Design Tech Gets the Win

Design Tech won the last time they faced KIPP San Jose Collegiate and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Dragons never let the Wolfpack get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 16 runs or more this season.

Adelaide Chuang made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Kendall Hom was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Lewis, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The victory got Design Tech back to even at 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Design Tech will face off against rival Summit Shasta at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, KIPP San Jose Collegiate is set to square off against their familiar foe Latino College Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
