Football Game Preview: Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

Harrells Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Ravenscroft recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. Harrells Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Ravenscroft likes a good challenge.

Harrells Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Asheville Christian Academy 55-14 last Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

Harrells Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Davis led the charge by rushing for 58 yards and one TD. Jarrod Miller was another key rusher, rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Harrells Christian Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dashaun McKoy, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ravenscroft, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Wayne Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-20. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Ravens considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Ravenscroft pushed their record up to 3-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for Harrells Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
