Softball Recap: James Wood Comes Up Short

James Wood was the 16-1 winner over Liberty when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Colonels fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Colonels have lost by just one run.

James Wood's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

James Wood will take on Millbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fauquier at 6:00 p.m. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
