Basketball Recap: Hammond Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hammond Central needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Marcus Browder. The Hammond Central Wolves took down the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions 75-56 on Tuesday thanks in part to Browder, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine assists. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Cylin Pointer, who went 8 of 10 en route to 20 points and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Hammond Central's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hammond Central and 21st Century Charter will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hammond Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th.
