Basketball Recap: Oaks Academy Gets the Win

Oaks Academy hadn't done well against North Idaho Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Oaks Academy pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over the North Idaho Christian Royals. This was a revenge game for Oaks Academy: when they faced off against North Idaho Christian back in January, they had to take a 55-41 loss.

Despite the defeat, North Idaho Christian had strong showings from Chelsey Cate, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Belle Jordan, who went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points along with eight boards and five assists. Those five assists gave Jordan a new career-high. Kenna Brotherton was another key player, putting up two points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

With the win, Oaks Academy broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-1. As for North Idaho Christian, their record is now 12-6.

Oaks Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Idaho Christian, they will take on House of the Lord Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. North Idaho Christian is facing House of the Lord Christian Academy at the right time seeing as House of the Lord Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
