Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots. The Titans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Leading Hitchcock-Tulare to victory were Cambree Hoekman and Avarie Estey. Hoekman had ten digs and two assists, while Estey had nine digs. That's the most digs Estey has posted over her last 12 matches.

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Platte/Geddes at 7:30 p.m. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Hanson on the 27th.
