Softball Recap: South Lake Comes Up Short

South Lake managed to slip by Lake Minneola the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 9-3 to the Hawks on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 18, 2025, but that streak is no more.

Makiah Palacio and Taytem Weber did some serious damage despite the final result: Palacio went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Weber went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lake Minneola, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, South Lake will square off against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Minneola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
