Basketball Recap: Saint James Skates Past Georgetown Day with Ease

Saint James came into Friday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 78-44 win over the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Saints have posted since December 8, 2024.

Jayden Yates continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Christian Gladchuk, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Saint James was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Georgetown Day only racked up eight assists.

Despite the loss, Georgetown Day still got an impressive performance from Khalin Patel, who posted nine points. Tigin Unsal was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Saint James' win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-13. As for Georgetown Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Saint James didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-43 defeat against Flint Hill on the 28th. As for Georgetown Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-51 victory against St. Anselm's Abbey on the 25th.
