Basketball Recap: West Hardin Comes Up Short

West Hardin lost against Evadale back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Hardin Oilers took a hard 50-35 fall against the Evadale Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1075th, while the Rebels are ranked 479th).

Jaden Gravis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Evadale, going 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven steals and five boards. Gravis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Warren Brewer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

West Hardin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Evadale, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 23-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Hardin will venture away from home to challenge Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evadale, they will head out on the road to face off against Sabine Pass at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evadale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.
