Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Massapequa couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Ketcham Storm by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Chiefs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Massapequa got a good showing from Jack Scanopieco, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Massapequa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Neary, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Tom Connelly also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Massapequa's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Ketcham, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

Massapequa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ketcham, they will face off against Saratoga Springs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Storm 2.7, the Blue Streaks 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
